Website Design / Development

Discover what a custom-designed website can do for you. I specialize in designing and developing WordPress-powered websites that are flexible, editable by you, and optimized for all devices. In addition, I also do UI design for E-commerce platforms.

Landis Farm Guest House

This website was designed and developed to improve the online marketing for this local farm / B&B-style guest house. The website includes a booking calendar that allows potential guests to browse available dates and make a booking online, including the ability to pay a deposit for their stay. This website replaces the original site that I had created around 10 years earlier… so it was in need of an update. A lot of website technology had changed in that span of time!

Cabinet Joint

This was a redesign project of a site that I had done a few years ago. Cabinet Joint is a factory-authorized reseller of custom-made ready-to-assemble cabinets made by Conestoga Wood Specialties… so the website has to communicate product options, woods and finishes, ways to get an accurate price quote, kitchen design tips, installation instructions, and more. The site also includes an extensive video library with industry-leading how-to videos to help DIY kitchen remodelers make their projects a success.

Ohio Mennonite Conference

One of the primary goals for this custom WordPress website was to provide an easier and more intuitive way to access news and information from around the conference, and to connect congregations to various resources that the conference provides. We created an online directory of congregations that includes the ability to see congregations on a map, and sort them in a list view. We have a built-in events calendar, and blog that is used to post articles, announcements, and resources. As always, the site is mobile-friendly.

Harrington-Robb is an industrial equipment and solutions company. They represent a variety of niche industrial equipment for more than a dozen manufacturers. Their website was in need of an update, so I worked with them to create an updated visual identity, and then we developed a site that will allow them to display products and manufacturer information for the different product lines that they represent.

E-commerce Redesign for Backcountry Edge

Backcountry Edge is an online retailer of backpacking and outdoor gear. They recently migrated their site to a new e-commerce platform. They brought me on board to redesign the entire user interface for the new site, including the design for how the site adapts to tablets and mobile phones. The result is an improved, responsive e-commerce shopping experience. The fine folks at Paradox Labs handled the website development for this project.

Global Disciples

Global Disciples, a Christian mission organization located in Lancaster, PA, needed a revamp of their existing website. They wanted the site to have a fresh look, but to maintain some of their consistent visual identity that they use in their print design. The site is custom developed using WordPress, and includes the ability to easily add various media types in the news blog, event listings, social media integration, and clear call to actions for the various ways people can get involved in supporting the ministry.

Berg Paving

This was a website redesign project for Berg Paving, a company in Morgantown, PA. I helped them reorganize their website, redesigned it, and custom developed a WordPress theme for it.

Peiffer Machine Services

This custom designed WordPress site will allow Peiffer Machine to better display projects, communicate their capabilities, communicate industry news and updates through a built-in blog, and more. The site is mobile friendly, helping their sales staff to use the website more effectively as a sales tool while they are on the road.

Mountain Ridge Church

For this custom-designed WordPress site, I was charged with the task of making a site that is “AWESOME.” The primary project goal was to develop a site that introduces people to the church who haven’t been there before, or who may have never stepped foot into any church in the past. It includes an online calendar, video, social media integration, blog, and more. Like every WordPress site I create, the client can update all the site’s content.

Stock Swap Furniture Consignment

Stock Swap Furniture Consignment wanted to be able to display their inventory online so customers could see what they have in stock. My solution was a custom developed WordPress website that has a dedicated section where Stock Swap can easily add inventory posts, sort them into categories, mark prices, mark products as “sold”, show multiple product photos, etc.

Lancaster County Career & Technology Center

Some of the primary goals in this redesign project centered around creating a new website with a fresh look and better user experience. It needed to be more user friendly for prospective students to learn about the CTC’s extensive course offering list. It also needed to work well on all devices.

WordPress is the content management system running the site. I designed / developed a custom WordPress theme that adds several custom post types for managing a large amount of pages and data, call-to-action forms, social media integration, events calendar, job board, and more. The site also has an online application form that allows prospective students to complete and submit their application online with their registration fees.

The project was completed in approximately three months, and I continue to provide ongoing design and development support.

Middletown Public Library

In addition to creating a new logo for the library, we redesigned the website, developing it in WordPress so that the library staff can easily make updates. The new site is mobile-device friendly. It includes an events calendar, resource listing, event signup forms, and more.

The Bridge Network

This custom designed WordPress-powered website was done for The Bridge House Church Network in New York City. Like all sites I do these days, it has a mobile-friendly responsive layout. It serves as a communications hub for the network, and includes a news blog, resources section, directory of churches, and more.
